Good stormwater management is being taken more seriously than ever in communities all across the Commonwealth—not only because of pressure from state and federal regulatory agencies, environmental advocates, and citizens, but because it is increasingly recognized as making good economic sense and enhances quality of life. The Department of Environmental Protection’s Stormwater BMP Manual is a great starting point for municipalities looking to implement a comprehensive stormwater management program, and it is based not on theory, but on proven, successful techniques.

StormwaterPA is intended to be a living resource center for all stakeholders interested in learning about the most effective techniques in use today, from developing and adopting ordinances to sharing experiences in consensus-building, from the benefits of low impact development to the challenges of reforesting channelized streams.
