Sustaining Green Infrastructure through Proper Landscape Management
Riparian Buffers

Welcome to Maintaining Green Infrastructure Stormwater Systems, a training series created by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society to create a pathway for those interested in pursuing careers in this emerging field. Each of these presentations can be viewed independently or together as a series.

A bare streambank is subject to attack by stormwater runoff, leading to water quality problems. Riparian Forests once preserved their adjacent streams, but have often been partially or completely removed during development. This session describes how to restore and maintain the critical vegetated buffers that protect our streams.
